Madiun - The Islamic sect Alif Rebo Wage (Aboge) in East Java's village of Ngampel will celebrate this year's Idul Adha (1432-H) festivity on Tuesday (Nov 8) instead of Sunday (Nov 6) as decided by the government.
The Madiun chapter leader of the Thoriqoh Shatoriyah An Nahdliyyah , normally called Aboge, Moch Rudy said here on Sunday that this Islamic sect's decision to celebrate the Idul Adha this year was based on its own way of calculating the Idul Adha and other celebrations of the Islamic phenomena namely based on the Mutakatasal.
"We also used this calendar as our reference in determining the beginning of this year's month of Ramadan and Idul Fitr festivities. We also celebrated the last Idul Fitr festivity later than than set by the government," Moch Rudy said.
The difference the Aboge conducted in celebrating the Islamic festivities also happened last year, Rudy said. (*)
