Surabaya (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has tested positive for the novel coronavirus based on the result of weekly swab test announced on her instagram @khofifah.ip on Saturday evening.

"I feel no symptoms," she said in social media.

This first female governor of East Java is currently conducting self isolation at her private residence in Surabaya under doctor's surveillance.

She expected the people of East Java to pray for her speedy recovery.

"Please pray for my recovery so I can carry out activities as before," she said.

The one-time social affairs minister called on the people of East Java to always comply with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Don't underestimate this virus. May Allah SWT protect the Indonesian nation," she said.
