Police Seize 8.1 kg of Crystal Meth

Jakarta (Antara) - Indonesian police seized 8.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during month-long operations in January 2015.
The methamphetamine was confiscated as part of a number of operations, director of the narcotic crime unit of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim), Brig. Gen. Anjan Pramuka Putra, said here on Friday.
Anjan added that the methamphetamine was hidden in printers ink cartridges and sent from China through a forwarding agent.
"The crystal meth was hidden in the cartridges of printers bearing the HP Laser Jet brand," he said.
He said 2.1 kilograms of methamphetamine were hidden in 14 cartridges packed in cardboard.
Police officers seized the cartridges from in front of Mega Bekasi Hypermall on January 16 from a suspect identified as Sandia Purwani, he said.
Earlier, the police also seized 2.2 kilograms of methamphetamine from suspects Heriyanto, Stevy Harto alias Yohanes and Enos Simbolon in the North Sumatra provincial capital of Medan.
Further, based upon the results of investigations into all suspects, the police arrested Chukwudubem Shedrak Nwabueze of Nigeria and seized 285 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on January 12.
Later, on January 28, the police confiscated 2.15 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hidden in mini-diesel engines.
"The crystal meth was hidden in the pipes of diesel engine," he said. (*)
