Jakarta (Antara) -- The Transportation Ministry will soon implement flight safety ratings that will apply to all airlines operating in Indonesia, to guarantee safety. "The safety ratings will be implemented next month. I understand that there are some parties that do not like the regulation, but I will announce it nevertheless," Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan said here on Tuesday. According to Jonan, the implementation of the flight safety ratings is part of efforts to improve the aviation sector in Indonesia. He added that improving air transportation was a bigger challenge than improving land transportation, particularly that of railways. The minister further noted that the safety ratings will be evaluated in three months. "We will make the announcement immediately. We want the regulation to come into effect next month," Jonan remarked. (*)
