Jakarta (Antara) -- Two police witnesses in the alleged case of corruption involving national police chief candidate Commissioner General Budi Gunawan did not meet the summons by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday. "(As their reasons,) Brigadier General Herry Prastowo sent a letter informing that he was carrying out an operational duty, while Senior Commissioner Ibnu Isticha said he was counseling a post-graduate student," Head of the KPK's News and Information Division, Priharsa Nugraha, said. Isticha, who is a senior lecturer at STIK Lemdikpol (police college), and Prastowo, who is the director of general crime, were scheduled to be questioned as witnesses on Monday in the case related to Budi Gunawan. "Commissioner Sumardji (another witness) is scheduled to be questioned tomorrow," Nugraha added. Sumardji is the deputy chief of the police resort of Jombang district in East Java. (*)
