Jakarta (Antara) - The Executive Board of the Indonesian Muslim Students Association (HMI) will immediately study the plan of the subsidized fuel oils price hike and the results of it will be handed to the government.
"The HMI's stance will depend on the results of the study. Hopefully the results of the study will be submitted to the government and the public in a couple of days to come," the HMI executive board chairman M Arief Rosyid Hasan said here on Sunday.
According to him, the increase of the subsidized fuel oil price from rp500 to rp3,000 per liter would burden the people. Thus, the government should conduct an in depth and precise study so the policy imposed will not harm the people.
"Is the reduction of the fuel oils subsidy as the only alternative to improve the state finance,?" he stated. (*)
