Jakarta (Antara) - Indonesia needs a large number of experts in the field of Information Technology (IT) in this era of "internet for everything," according to Cisco Indonesia's Managing Director Sancoyo Setiabudi.
"The IT demand in terms of human resources is getting higher and higher, but our country, in reality, lacks IT experts," Sancoyo stated here on Tuesday.
He emphasized that the need for IT experts cannot be separated from Indonesia's position of having a huge IT potential, including the internet.
"Indonesia has a vast population, of which around 71.2 million people use computers in their daily activities," Sancoyo remarked.
Referring to a study, he noted that in the next 10 years, "internet for everything" will globally generate business opportunities that can reach approximately US$19 trillion.
Therefore, he stated that Cisco Indonesia is cooperating with 167 educational institutions across the country to improve the quality of human resources in the realm of IT. (*)
