From Aceh to Papua, All Must Prosper Together: President

Raja Ampat, Papua (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has expressed the hope that all areas from Aceh to Papua will prosper together. "We want all areas from Aceh to Papua to advance and prosper together," President Yudhoyono said in his address to mark the prime event of Sail Raja Ampat 2014 here, Saturday. A safe and peaceful situation was needed across the country to implement the Masterplan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia's Economic Development (MP3EI), the president noted. Accordingly, the level of people's welfare in every region, including those in the eastern part of Indonesia can improve significantly, he stated. The government has allocated special autonomy funds of around Rp7 trillion for regions in Indonesia, including Papua and West Papua next year, Yudhoyono said. Sail Raja Ampat 2014 was intended to increase the footfalls in the tourism sector in Papua and West Papua, he noted. (*)
