Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (Antara) - Police have named 54 suspects in last Friday's torching of the Southwest Sumba General Election Commission (KPU)'s secretariat building. The suspects included those ordering the mob to set fire to the KPU secretariat building on March 28, chief of the East Nusa Tenggara provincial police Brig. Gen. Untung Yoga said here on Saturday. "Investigators have questioned a total of 108 people. But they can only prove that 54 of them are involved and named suspects in the case," he said. The police also seized machetes and explosives from the suspects as evidence, he said. He said the police are developing a full investigation into the case, yet they had not found evidence pointing to the involvement of a mastermind in the case. "We have named the coordinator of the action as a suspect," he said. Investigators are in the process of completing the dossiers of the suspects, hoping the dossiers could be sent to the court next week at the latest. "We also have coordinated with the Waikabubak public prosecutor's office. Hopefully, there will be no problems when the dossiers are handed to the public prosecutor," he said.
