Bandung, W Java (Antara) - One of seven Indonesians on board the missing Malaysia Airline plane is a cumlaude student from Informatics and Electrical Engineering department of one of the ivy league university in Indonesia, the Bandung Technology Institute (ITB). "Firman Chandra Siregar (25 years old) is our alumnus. He graduated in 2011 with the cumlaude title. We wish for his safety and the safety of all passengers on the plane," lecturer at Bandung Technology Institute Pekik Argo Dahoni stated here on Tuesday. Pekik, who was direct supervisor for Firman while the latter was in college, stated that Firman was a hardworking student. "My last communication with him was when he asked for a recommendation letter to apply for a job in Beijing," pointed out Pekik. Firman Chandra Siregar is one of the 239 passengers on board flight number MH370 heading to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. The plane left Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (March 8) at 00.41 a.m. and was supposed to arrive in Beijing at 06.30 a.m. However, the plane lost contact with Subang air traffic control at around 2.40 a.m. Until now the search for the missing plane continues with Malaysia leading the process assisted by the navy and air force personnel from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, China and Australia.
