Jakarta (Antara) - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has sent a note of protest to the National Defense Forces (TNI) chief after two Army soldiers beat a party task force member, PDIP Secretary General Tahjo Kumolo said. "The PDIP executive board has sent a note of protest to the TNI chief, with copies addressed to the Army chief of staff and the battalion commander," he said here on Monday. The PDIP wanted to protest against why the two Army soldiers forced themselves into the yard of the PDIP executive board's office and beat the party task force officer, he said. He said the PDIP expressed deep regret over the incident. "Although the two TNI members had been handed to the military police of the regional military command (Pomdam) for further process according to the standing procedure, we sent the official note of protest as part of effort to prevent the incident from a recurrence," he said. The member of the House Commission I said the PDIP did not want to hurry to arrive at a conclusion or presumption but asked the TNI leadership to process the case according to the standing procedure.
