Jakarta - Around 600 Muslim business leaders from 35 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will take part in an exhibition and conference to be held at the Jakarta Convention Center here from Sept 12-16 to expand and integrate world Muslim business. "KADIN (the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) is optimistic there will be business transactions, and joint ventures and partnership will be established in the process of the exhibition and conference," chairman of Jakarta Kadin Eddy Kuntadi said in news release on Saturday. The 3rd Muslim World Business and Investment Zone (MWBiz) 2012 is part of cooperation between Kadin and the Business Center of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OICIBC), Eddy said. Around 70,000 people are expected to visit the exhibition and conference. It will be the third exhibition and conference held by ICO after ones in 2010 and 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Eddy said Muslim countries with a population of 1.5 billion make up a huge and potential market for Indonesian products. KADIN through MWBiz 2012 will create opportunities with multiplier effects including promotion of investment and development of networks among business leader form ICO member countries, he said.(*)
