Jakarta - About 495 Indonesian workers have been repatriated from Saudi Arabia during the last two months, stated a press release from the Foreign Affairs Ministry issued here on Tuesday. Meanwhile, according to data received from the Indonesian embassy in Riyadh, 208 more Indonesians are in the process of being repatriated from Saudi Arabia. The workers are temporarily staying at the embassy's transit house at present, while awaiting clearance from the local authority to leave Saudi Arabia. There are around 1.5 million Indonesian migrant workers currently working in Saudi Arabia, and they generated a total income of about Rp5.7 trillion during 2011. (*)
