Jakarta - Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo hoped that ministries/state institutions would maximize their absorption of state budget from the beginning of 2012.
"We are preparing to kick off so that the budget absorption in 2012 should be maximized since the beginning and it would be better," the finance minister said here on Friday.
For this purpose the minister is planning to have a meeting with the leaders of the ministries/state institutions to discuss the implementation of the government's program in 2012. The meeting is expected to be held next Monday, November 28, 2011.
"On Monday, we will explain to the ministries all topics that have been deliberated between the government and the House of Representatives (DPR)," Agus said.
He said that in the meeting, his side will also explain to the ministries about the way it communicated with the DPR regarding the popularization of the government's programs and budget.
"We in the finance ministry want to assure that the government's institutions would understand and follow up what become the aspirations of the DPR," he said.
He said that deliberations and discussions of the government's programs with the House were very important because they concerned with accountability and transparency as well as the state budget management.
"In essence, the House of Representatives has aspirations regarding state receipts, spending, debt management, regional development and good governance," Agus said.
Regarding the 2011 state budget, the minister asked all ministries to absorb state budget optimally with responsibility.(*)
