Sabang, Aceh, (Antara) - Fifteen crew members of the Thai-flagged MV Silver Sea 2, detained since August 2015, have been deported by the immigration office here.
"The total number of MV Silver Sea crew members is 19. All of them are Thai nationals. Fifteen of them have been deported, and four remain in custody," Muhammad Hatta, spokesman of the local immigration office, said here, Tuesday.
The sailors have been returned in five batches since November 13, 2015, for health reasons, he added.
The four who remain are the ship's captain, Yotin Kuarabiab; the machine room chief, Supachai Singkalvanch; and two crew members. They are being detained for allegedly conducting poaching activities in Indonesian waters.
Indonesian warship KRI Teuku Umar 385 had seized the Thai ship, holding 1.93 thousand tons of various fish, some 80 miles off Sabang Island.(*)
