Surabaya Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Traffickers

Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - The Surabaya city police in East Java have arrested two suspects for allegedly selling crystal meth (sabu-sabu).
The police made the arrest after receiving a tip that the suspects would sell the drugs in North Surabaya, spokesman for the city police Comsr. Widjanarko said here on Friday.
"Soon after we received information about the transactions, our team went to the scene to arrest them," he noted.
The suspects were identified by their initials as SPR and SMN, both residents of Tanah Merah in Surabaya.
During the raid, the police also seized 2.61 grams of crystal meth, a wallet, and a glass pipette containing 2.11 gram of crystal meth, among other evidence.
Officials said the two suspects confessed that they obtained the crystal meth from a trafficker, who is now at large and has been placed on the wanted list.
"Investigators are still interrogating the suspects and trying to gather information about the drug lord. The team has taken steps to capture him," he said.
The police also arrested three residents for allegedly consuming crystal meth. The three suspects, identified by the initials DW, AB and IM, were arrested in different locations in the city.(*)
