Jakarta (Antara) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police nabbed 11 suspected hoodlums in different places in the capital while conducting a large-scale patrol at midnight on Saturday. "We have arrested 11 hoodlums in Monas (National Monument) and Tanah Abang areas," Head of Crime and Violence Sub-directorate of the General Crime Investigation Directorate at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Adj. Snr. Comsr. Herry Heryawan said on Sunday. The large-scale patrol was conducted in several areas, including Monas, Tanah Abang, Karet Tengsin, Semanggi, Hotel Indonesia roundabout, Bung Karno sports stadium and bus terminals, he said. Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono led the patrol which involved 1,750 personnel from Sabhara rapid response unit, mobile brigade (Brimob) unit, detective unit and security intelligence unit. The patrol was aimed at making city residents free from any security disturbance. The patrol was conducted in areas considered prone to criminal offenses in Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang and Depok.
