KPK to Scrutinize National Police Chief Candidates' Fortune

Jakarta (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will track the wealth of candidates for national police chief.
"The commission's profiling will bring some clarification," KPK Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto said here on Friday.
According to him, the commission will focus on three aspects. First, whether the candidates adhere to rules about reporting their assets and other interests.
"Second, whether the assets of the candidates are in accordance with their income profile. And third, possibilities and indication about 'fat' bank accounts," Widjojanto explained.
The National Police Commission has been considering five senior police officers to replace National Police Chief Gen. (Pol) Sutarman who will retire in October 2015.
The five senior police officers are Chief of Indonesian Deputy Police Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti; Chief of Education Division Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan; Chief of the National Police's Security Maintenance Division Comr. Gen. Putut Eko Bayuseno; Chief of General Supervision Inspectorate Comr. Gen. Dwi Priyatno; and Chief of National Police Criminal Investigations Comr. Gen. Suhardi Alius. (*)
