Jakarta (Antara) -- The Golkar Party faction in the House of Representatives (DPR) believes that 325 lawmakers will sign the document supporting the plan to use the parliament's interpellation right. The DPR has been deliberating over using this right to seek an explanation from the government for its subsidized fuel price hike policy. "If all democratic lawmakers sign, it will bring the total to 325," the Secretary of the Golkar Party faction, Bambang Soesatyo, said at a press conference here on Monday. Soesatyo added that 87 of 90 members of the Golkar Party faction, 40 members of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction, and 48 members of the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction agreed to sign the document. Furthermore, Golkar Party politician Misbakhum stated that members of the DPR want a response from the government to the parliament's question about its subsidized fuel price hike policy. According to him, the government must explain the reason behind its subsidized fuel price hike policy, which has had a direct impact on the public. "This is our effort to respond to the public's (complaint about) the subsidized fuel price hike," he explained. (*)
