Indonesian Citizens in Taiwan Conducts Eidm Prayers at Fishing Shelter

Pingtung, Taiwan (Antara) - Indonesian citizens in southern Taiwan conducted prayers here on Sunday at a fishing shelter in Donggang Port, Pingtung County, to commemorate the Eid al Adha celebratation.
A two-story house was transformed into a mosque. Mihrab and Minbar are on the second floor at 34-1 Fung Yu Li, Yu Fung St., Donggang, while the ground floor is occupied by women.
At least 300 Indonesian citizens conducted Eid prayers in congregation and listened to the sermon which was delivered by member of the board of the Nahdlatul Ulama Taiwan branch, Bambang Arip.
The Indonesian citizens who conducted the Eid prayers came from southern Taiwan, such as Kaohsiung, Pingtun, and Tainan. They conducted the Eid prayers following the decision of Religious Affairs Minister of the Republic of Indonesia.
After conducting the Eid prayers, the fishermen continued their daily activities in the Pacific Ocean waters, while the Indonesian citizens who work as domestic servants and factory workers enjoyed a holiday.
Last night, dozens of fishermen held takbir prayers (Praising God) around Donggang Port which is about 278 kilometers from the capital city of Taiwan in Taipei.
The second floor of the building has been used as a prayer room by fishermen who are mostly from the northern coast of Java Island.(*)
