Sampang, E Java (Antara) - Five workers were rescued from the debris of a bridge that had collapsed Thursday while undergoing repairs in Malaka Village, Jrengik Subdistrict, Sampang District, East Java. The workers were pulled out from the rubble by policemen and villagers, head of Sampang District's Disaster Mitigation Board (BPBD) Wisnu Hartono said. "They have been taken to a local hospital," he said adding that the injured workers were identified as Abdul Baki, Mat Hori, Tilan, Abeh and Muhammad. The cause of the collapse has not yet been ascertained, but the bridge was under repairs because it was in a poor condition, he added. (*) Reported by Abd Aziz
