Bandarlampung, Lampung (Antara) - The Indonesian ferry (KMP) Marisa Nusantara collided with the Cambodian-flagged freighter Qihang on Saturday, though no casualties have been reported. "The crash occurred about three miles from Bakauheni Port, around 04.30 pm," said Manager of Operations of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry in Bakauheni, Heru Purwanto, when contacted from Bandarlampung on Saturday. Heru said that KMP Marisa Nusantara, departing from the port of Merak Banten for Lampung Bakauheni, sustained damage to the front of the ship. He said that there were no casualties in the crash, though 22 private cars and two motorcycles were damaged. "KMP Marisa Nusantara is now mooring in the dock near Bakauheni Port," said Heru. Heru also said he did not know about repairs or the time required to repair the Marisa Nusantara. Regarding the Cambodian-flagged freighter, Heru said his team was only securing the ferry and had no information about the Cambodian freighter.
