Jakarta (Antara) - U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel hosted a welcome-back reception on Monday at his residence for the 82 students who participated in the 2012-2013 Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program. The Indonesian students, recruited from among thousands of applicants throughout in entire archipelago, spent a year in American high schools throughout the country and lived with American host families, the US Embassy here said on its official website on Tuesday. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the program and selected alumni from all 10 cohorts attended the event. U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel congratulated all alumni on having taken advantage of their year in the U.S. to learn and build their self-confidence, especially in speaking English, noting that the impressive cultural performance by the returning YES students was one of the highlights of his three years here.
