Jakarta (Antara) - An Indonesian businessman is complaining of the impact of United States embargo on Iran because it disturbs his company's exports to Kazakhstan through that country. "Since the US embargo on Iran, our tyre exports to Kazakhstan have been hampered. We must export our product to Kazakhstan via China which is wasteful and inefficient," Director of Multistrada Limited Uthan Sadikin said here on Thursday. The distribution to Kazakhstan through China is much longer than via Iran. The distribution through China needs one month but it just needs a half month if exported through Iran region. "Iran is the easiest place for our distribution of our tyre products due to its geographical advantage than China," he said. "Now we will send our product from Indonesia to Malaysia first and then to Chengdu, China, before it is distributed to Kazakhstan." The local tyre producer has 2.6 million tyre export per year. Multistrada is one of several domestic companies which have similar logistic barriers to send their product to Kazakhstan. These included Pertamina (oil and gas), Indofood (foods) and Nidas (purchase of grain). He also expected increasing bilateral cooperation. "Indonesia and Kazakhstan have their potentials. Indonesia is the world's biggest rubber producer and Kazakhstan has big number of oil deposit," he said. (*)
