President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) headed to East Java on Thursday to see the implementation of vaccination activity for students and visit the porang plant (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) processing factory in Madiun.
Jokowi along with his staff took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Airport, East Jakarta, aboard his presidential aircraft, according to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat office.
On arrival at the Iswahjudi Air Force Base, Madiun District, the head of state was greeted by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Regional Military Commander V/Brawijaya Major General Suharyanto, and East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta.
The president firstly paid a visit to SMPN 3 Mejayan, Madiun District, to review a vaccination program being implemented in the school. He was scheduled to hold video conferences with those partaking in similar vaccinations in several other provinces.
The president was scheduled to head to the Pesilat Village Gang, Mejayan Sub-District, Madiun District, to inspect the implementation of house-to-house COVID-19 vaccinations in the community.
In the afternoon, Jokowi would hold a meeting with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of East Java Province at the Ronggo Djoemeno Hall, Madiun District.
Lastly, the president would visit the Porang plant processing factory owned by PT Asia Prima Konjac. On the same occasion, the head of state would also conduct groundbreaking or laying the first stone for factory expansion and hold a dialog with farmers.
President Jokowi and his entourage were scheduled to return to Jakarta in the afternoon.
During his East Java visit, he was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary Rear Marshal M. Tonny Harjono, Commander of Presidential Security Guards (Paspampres) Brigadier General Tri Budi Utomo, and Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
