Madiun (ANTARA News)- A tributary of Bengawan River has spilled over its bank and inundated several villages in Madiun District, East Java Province, following incessant heavy rains since Tuesday afternoon.
Floods submerged homes and roads in several villages in the sub-districts of Saradan, Gemarang, Pilangkenceng, Madiun and Caruban.
In Sidorejo village, Saradan sub-district, flood waters reached a height of between 30 cm and 60 cm, but it began to subside on Wednesday morning.
The Madiun-Surabaya highway section in Sidorejo was also flooded. *)
