Jakarta (Antara) - The Indonesian presidential and vice presidential candidate pair of Prabowo-Hatta is leading from Jakarta and Banten voting areas as compared to the Jokowi-JK pair, noted Rully Akbar, a researcher from the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI). "The Prabowo-Hatta pair gained 35 percent votes in Jakarta, whereas the current Jakarta governor and former vice president Jokowi-JK only gained 30.66 percent votes, remarked Rully during a press conference held here on Wednesday. Rully stated that the Prabowo-Hatta pair gained 33.53 percent votes in Banten, whereas the Jokowi-JK pair gained 26.25 percent in the area. "With 34 days left for the presidential election, each candidate's campaign team must master their strategy in regional areas. Out of the 33 Indonesian provinces, the LSI has identified seven strategic provinces that are forecast to be the candidate's real battlefield, such as Jakarta, Banten, West Java, East Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatra," Rully pointed out. The voter population in seven provinces account for nearly 70 percent of the total national electorate. "Those who win the vote in seven provinces will be elected as the president and vice president," he noted. The national survey was conducted in early May 2014 targeting 2.4 thousand total respondents, and had a margin of error of about two percent. (*)
