Jakarta (Antara) - The joint honorary council of judges from the Supreme Court (MA) and the Judicial Commission (KY) had discharged the adhoc judge of the Bandung anti-corruption court Ramlan Comel for allegedly taking a bribe. "I am imposing a strict disciplinary sanction on him in the form of a disgraceful discharge from the post of the judge," chief of the council Artidjo Alkostar said on Wednesday. The joint honorary council is made up of chief justice Artidjo as chairman, with chief justices Abdul Manan and M Syarifuddin and the judicial commission's commissioners Eman Suparman, Imam Anshori Saleh, Ubrahim and Jaja Ahmad Jayus as members. The council also ordered the Supreme Court chief justice to issue a letter of temporary discharge until the president issued a decree of permanent discharge. The council was supposed to read out its decision on the discharge of the adhoc judge Ramlan Comel on March 6, but because he was not present for the session it was adjourned until Wednesday. In its decision, the council said Ramlan proved guilty of violating a joint decision of the MA chief and the KY chief on code of ethics and guide to judges' conduct. (*) Reporting by Joko Susilo
