Jakarta (Antara) - The Social Security Management Agency (BPJS -Health) is ready to implement the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme, stated the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Denny Indrayana.
"Our colleagues are ready, although this is a humongous task," Denny Indrayana noted during his visit to a 24-hour BPJS-Health command post, here on Monday.
The BPJS-Health command posts have been established following instructions from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the launch of the National Movement of the BPJS-Health in Sukabumi, West Java, in October 2013.
Indonesia's Health Insurance (JKN) scheme is better than that of the US, Obama Health Care according to Indrayana.
About 116 million people are covered under the JKN scheme comprising 86.4 million health insurance assistance recipients (PBI), and the rest being civil servants, military as well as police officers.
The deputy minister called on private- and state-owned companies to register their employees for the JKN scheme.
He also urged Indonesian citizens, who had not joined the scheme, to register with the BPJS office in their respective domiciles.
The 24-hour BPJS-Health command posts are set up to ensure the smooth implementation of the BPJS-Health scheme. The monitoring activities can be intensively carried out through the BPJS-Health data and information center.
"It is apparent that all the applications are IT-enabled," the deputy minister added. (*)
