Jakarta - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Merdeka Palace here Thursday received his German counterpart, Christian Wulff. Upon arrival at the palace, President Wulff was welcomed with an official state ceremony. According to presidential spokesperson for international relations Teuku Faizasyah, the two presidents would hold a meeting to discuss matters related to the two countries' bilateral cooperation. At the meeting, Yudhoyono would be flanked by several ministers including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik. During his state visit from November 30 to December 2, Wulff is also scheduled to attend a Business Forum with the German community in Indonesia, and give a public lecture at the University of Indonesia (UI). He will also meet Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Taufik Kiemas and former president BJ Habibie, as well as several prominent figures, men of culture, and members of Indonesia's civil society. In the evening, Yudhoyono will host a state banquet at State Palace. Before leaving Jakarta on December 2, the German president will visit the Kalibata Heroes' Cemetery. (*)
