Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has asked the public not to worry about the availability of vaccines since the stocks in the region are sufficient.
"The stock of vaccines is abundant. Thus, everyone who has not received the third vaccination jab can immediately get vaccinated at the nearest vaccination site," she said here on Monday.
Currently, there are 1,071,590 doses of vaccines in stock across the province, she noted.
People have been advised to promptly take the booster vaccination to be allowed to conduct Eid Al-Fitr homecoming.
"It is considering that people will gather with their relatives on the holy day, thus they need to be well-protected from the transmission of the COVID-19 virus," the governor said.
Hence, she emphasized that complete and booster vaccinations should be taken to protect the self and others, especially since people usually visit elderly relatives on the day.
She also said that vaccines have been prepared at community health centers.
Meanwhile, referring to the data on the availability of vaccines per district/city in the province, the area with the largest vaccine stocks is Jember district, with a total of 103,706 doses.
