Indian Citizens in Bali to Celebrate Independence Day

Denpasar, Bali (Antara) - The Indian Consulate General in Bali will celebrate the 68th Independence Day of India at its office in the Mandala Renon area here on Friday.
"The observance of the Indian independence day will be marked with the hoisting of the Indian flag and will be attended by the Indian community in Bali and Indian citizens from Indonesia's eastern provinces, including those from Timor Leste," Spokesman of the Indian Consulate General in Bali Ni Ketut Kharisna Mutiara here on Thursday.
He said that the celebration would be carried out in traditional way full of passion and happiness. The raising of the Three-Color Flag will be accompanied with the singing of the Indian national anthem and patriotic songs by students of local international schools.
Every year, teachers and students from the Gandhi Memorial International School and the Taman Rama International School take part in singing the songs with nationalism and patriotic spirit.
In Bali, there are about 2,000 Indian citizens and descendants of native Indians who harmoniously co-exist with other communities. (*)
