Jakarta (Antara) - Prabowo Subianto, one of two Indonesian presidential candidates said that his side if elected will retain and continue President Susilo Bambang Yudhohono's government programs which have been running well.
"We have the same thought to overcome the difficulties of the nation, we wish to unite, maintain and continue what have been done well by 'Pak' (Mr) Susilo Bambang Yudhohono," Prabowo said here on Sunday following his dialogue with Democrat Party cadres.
According to Prabowo, the nation's building effort cannot be carried out piece by piece, but this is a long struggle.
"What has been done by Bung Karno (first President Soekarno), Soeharto (second president), all are aimed to reach Indonesian powerful and prosperous Indonesia," he stated.
Thus, Prabowo and his running mate Hatta Rajasa if elected in the July 9, 2014 presidential election, will make use of what has been done by the current president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) during his ten years term of office as the capital to develop the country.
"From that of 10 years term of Pak (Mr) SBY, we will use as capital for the future. We maintain the good ones and we will use them as capital to continue our development," Prabowo disclosed.
Meanwhile, the vice presidential candidate Hatta Rajasa said his side is awaiting the supports from the Democrat Party (PD) for the Prabowo-Hatta duo in the July 9 presidential election and they don't want to make speculation.
According to Hatta the Democrat Party facilitated the dialogue so that the presidential and vice presidential hopefuls can express their vision and mission before the PD's cadres.
The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) here on Saturday named two pairs of candidates - Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa - as having qualified to run for president. (*)
