PBNU Community Forecast to Vote for Jokowi-JK Pair

Jakarta (Antara) - A majority of the Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic Organization (PBNU) community are forecast to vote for Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK) pair in the July 9, 2014, presidential election, stated former PBNU chairman Hasyim Muzadi. "I think many people from the PBNU community will vote for Joko Widodo and his running mate, Jusuf Kalla in the presidential election," Hasyim Muzadi noted after a conference at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory on Thursday. According to Muzadi, from the very onset, several people have questioned Jokowi's religious background, but their doubts were cleared after Jusuf Kalla clarified that the presidential candidate was a true Muslim. Therefore, Hasyim Muzadi urged the irresponsible parties, who debated over Jokowi's religious background, to stop staging a black campaign against him. (*)
