Jakarta (Antara) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) has scheduled to endorse the recapitulation results of the legislative election for the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representative Council (DPD) and Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD) on Friday night, a spokesman said.
"We plan to endorse the results of legislative election overall nationally tomorrow at 7.30 p.m. local time. It is our decision to announce the results of legislative election," said the KPU commissioner Hadar Nafis Gumay here on Thursday night.
According to him, validation mechanism of the recapitulation results of the legislative election 2014 is by presenting valid votes of each political party participating in the election in each province.
The KPU will also announce the political party that will reach the parliamentary threshold of 3.5 percent from the vote count, he said.
"There will be a table of results of valid votes nationally, that includes the results of vote count in each province," Hadar stated.
The KPU up to 10.00 p.m. local time had endorsed the recapitulation of legislative election in 23 provinces. Meanwhile, the recapitulation results for the other 10 provinces have to be postponed on the recommendation of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).
Hadar said his side so far did not consider the proposed draft of government regulation in Lieu of Law (Perpu) in order to extend the recapitulation time.
In the meantime, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has asked Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi to prepare a draft government regulation (Perpu) to extend the recapitulation period of the legislative elections results.
"The minister was ordered by the president to actively monitor and facilitate the implementation of the general elections, and prepare a draft Perpu in case it is needed," Home Affairs Ministry Spokesman Didik Suprayitno said.
He stated that the minister has also ordered the Director General for National Unity and Political Affairs Tanaribali Lamo to prepare the draft in case the General Elections Committee (KPU) needed it. (*)
