Bakauheni, Lampung (Antara) - Police of South Lampung seized 13.5 kilogram of narcotics with a value of Rp29 billion (around 2.7 million US Dollar) from Nigeria in a raid in Bakauheni Port, Lampung. "The exhibits from the raid are in form of two kilogram of heroin or 'putaw' and 11.5 kilogram of methamphetamine crystal," Head of Lampung Police Office Brigadier General Heru Winarko said during an expose here, Sunday. Winarko said the Narcotics Unit of South Lampung Police arrested the suspect on Friday (Oct 18) at 03:00 pm of local time in Seaport Interdiction Area of Bakauheni Port. The narcotics were brought by a courier, Rianto or Kiek Wan (47), resident of Darmayudo Utama Street 16, Purworejo Subdistrict, Pasuruan, East Java, who was on board Medan Jaya bus. "The drugs were covered with transparent plastic bags and packed in five used cardboard and disguised by coated nuts. Some of the seizes drugs were to be delivered to Basuki in Jakarta from Ade Irma. Both are police's target. Rianto would then be charged by violating Law no.35/2009 about Narcotics which carries a maximum penalty of 20 year imprisonment and Rp13 billion worth of fine. "We are still investigating the case to arrest the other suspects," Winarko said. (*)
