Jakarta (Antara) - US Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Jim Carouso, awarded certificates of completion to 15 University of Indonesia undergraduate students for attending a 2-week website design program sponsored by the Department of State. The Deacon of the Computer Science Department at the University of Indonesia, Depok campus, thanked the US Embassy Jakarta for sponsoring the program, which focused on the application of skills to complement their theoretical undergraduate coursework, the US Embassy here said on Monday. The students worked with the experts at SuitMedia creative digital lab, a website design company founded 5 years ago by ITB Computer Science graduates, the embassy said on its website. The Fund for Innovation program offers students the chance to learn web design and then pays them to develop websites for women-owned small businesses in Indonesia. With e-commerce growing by over 70 percent year in Indonesia, this program will help train students start their own webdesign businesses. (*)
