Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto said the Forest Area Enforcement (PKH) Task Force has reclaimed state assets worth around Rp370 trillion (US$21.65 billion).
He made the statement during the handover of recovered state assets, as broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Friday.
According to the president, the amount is significant as it equals nearly 10 percent of the State Budget, which stands at around Rp3,700 trillion.
"This task force has successfully reclaimed state assets in forest areas valued at approximately Rp370 trillion. Their work over the past year and a half has saved almost 10 percent of the State Budget," he said.
Prabowo added that the figure reflects potential state losses caused by the illegal occupation of forest areas.
The recovered assets, he noted, create major opportunities for accelerating national development, including modernizing schools, improving education facilities, and building basic infrastructure.
"If we calculate Rp370 trillion, we can estimate that we will repair all schools across Indonesia, modernize them, digitize them, and improve sanitation facilities," he said.
Prabowo also expressed appreciation to the task force for its efforts in safeguarding state assets.
He emphasized that asset recovery is a strategic step to ensure national resources are used for public welfare.
He also reiterated that law enforcement is key to protecting state assets.
"The law is a primary instrument to safeguard the nation's wealth. Without it, people cannot prosper," he said.
