London, (Antara) - Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Jancarek said Indonesia is one of Czech Republic's strategic partners which has a strategic position and role in the Southeast Asian region.

Jancarek made the remarks in a diplomatic reception held by the Indonesian Embassy in Praha, Indonesian Embassy Spokesperson Fitriyani Riduan said here on Sunday.

The Czech deputy foreign minister is convinced that the bilateral relations of Indonesia and the Czech Republic will continue to develop. The trade volume of the two countries will increase and the number of foreign tourists from the two nations will also rise.

Indonesia's Ambassador to the Czech Republic Aulia A Rachman underscored the progress of the two countries' ties over the past one years.

He said that the two countries also always exchanged officials' visits. Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralec visted Indonesia last February which helped strengthened bilateral ties of the countries.

Ambassador Aulia said that Indonesia appreciated the Czech Republic's support of Indonesia's regional integrity and sovereignty.

Besides political relations, the ambassador also underlined that  relations of the two countries in the economic, social, culture, education and sports  fields are also running well.(*)
