Banda Aceh, Dec 14 (Antara) - The National Energy Council (DEN) has set a general plan for national energy in the 16th session here to guarantee energy availability in the country.
This is a long term program . Next year, DEN as a 'policy maker' will give guideline and supervise implementation of energy policy," DEN chairman Sudirman Said told a press conference here on Saturday.
Sudirman said the general plan is an implementation of the presidential regulation No 1 of 2014, therefore, it has to be carried out.
In addition to guaranteeing the availability of energy in the future, the general plan also guarantees access of the people to energy with reasonable price, the minister said, adding it is sustainable and environmentally friendly.
DEN secretary general Satry Nugraha said the session discussed strategies to reach energy targets toward self sufficiency in energy supply.
The targets include production of primary energy equivalent to 400 million tons in 2025 and 1,000 million tons of oil in 2050.
The target for per capital consumption pf primary energy was set equivalent to 1.4 tons of oil in 2015 and 3.2 tons in 2050.
The target for the capacity of power generating facilities was set at 136.7GW in 2025 and 430 GW in 2050 with per capita consumption at 2,500 kwh in 2025 and 7,000 kwh in 2050.
"Electrification ratio target was set close to 100 percent in 2020 and in 2025 renewable energy is set to make up 23 percent of the primary energy mix," Satrya said.(*)
