Jakarta (Antara) -- The anti-corruption body is considering seeking assistance from the Indonesian Military (TNI) to bring in witnesses for questioning as part of investigations into the case that involves Commissioner General Budi Gunawan. "We will consult with the president about whether we can involve other agencies if our colleagues in the police cannot guarantee to help the commission," Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto said here on Thursday. Police witnesses again failed to meet the KPK's summons for questioning on Tuesday (January 27) over the alleged case of corruption regarding suspicious transactions that involves Chief of the National Police Education Institute, Commissioner General Budi Gunawan. Three police witnesses were scheduled to testify in connection with Gunawan's alleged involvement in the graft case. While Insp. Gen. Andayono, who is the regional police chief of East Kalimantan, and 1st Adj. Insp. Revindo Taufik Gunawan Siahaan gave no reason for failing to meet the KPK's summons, retired Brig. Gen. Heru Purwanto said he was ill, KPK's Head of News Reporting and Publication, Priharsa Nugraha, revealed. (*)
