Kediri, E Java (Antara) - Members of the police force of the East Java provincial city of Kediri confiscated at least 12 thousand illegal pills and arrested seven suspects, said the head of the detective unit of the local police. "We have long watched the suspects and confiscated some of the evidence at their homes," head of the detective unit of the Kediri police, Adjunct Commissioner Ridwan Sahara, said here on Friday. The illicit drugs were taken from five suspects at different crime scenes, while another two suspects were involved in trafficking methamphetamine, he said. Ridwan further said that the suspects, who have past arrest records, said they were involved in selling drugs in a bid to earn large profits. The suspects sold the illegal drugs in the large packs of 1,000 pills, worth rp250 thousands each, and small packs of 10 pills being sold for rp 5,000 to rp10,000 each, he stated. The suspects obtained the illegal drugs from someone who is still being held in prison, Ridwan quoted the suspects as saying. However, the police said the investigation will continue.
