Jakarta (Antara) - Former president Sukarno's daughter Rachmawati Soekarnoputri has asked for postponement of the inaugural ceremony of president-elect Joko Widodo, popularly called Jokowi, until every crime allegation related to him is resolved. "I have heard that there were several alleged crimes. So, he should not be installed till the problem is settled," Rachmawati stated here on Wednesday. She was speaking in a workshop on "Studies on the Legitimacy of the Presidential Process and Results" at the Hall of the Bung Karno University. Rachmawati pointed out several alleged criminal violations, including a corruption case in the procurement of Trans-Jakarta buses, alleged fat bank account abroad not reported to the antigraft body KPK, diversion of the BWM Park function, and others. "He should first pass a fit-and-proper test. We as a sovereign country should resolve such issues first," she noted. Rachmawati appealed to the KPK to investigate and uphold justice. She also asked the Indonesia Corruption Watch (IPW) to play an active role in the investigation. "The IPW is seemingly torpid. This case should be investigated first," she stressed. Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla will be installed as the president and vice president, respectively, on October 20, 2014. Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla are currently studying and preparing the cabinet and their work programs together with their transition team. (*)
