Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara) - The views of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are contrary to Islamic law because it uses violence to implement its ideas, a spokesmen of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) Bangka Belitung, Fakhruddin Halim, said Saturday. "ISIS uses violence in carrying out its ideas, while Islam never teaches violence. The caliphate idea promoted by ISIS is not true because there is deception in the idea," he added. Fakhruddin said Hizbut Tahrir rejects ISIS because it is not in accordance with Islamic teachings that promote peace. "We have to be careful on this issue so no party can take advantage. We have to know what ISIS is and how far it has moved," he added. He explained that Islam teaches the values contained in the Qur'an and the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. Islam does not teach violence. "If we understand Islam, then we can see ISIS is contrary to Islam," Fakhruddin said. Hizbut Tahrir is an international Islamic political-based organization. "In contrast to the ISIS, which commits violence in achieving its mission, Hizbut Tahrir educates people to understand Islam as a way of life," he said. According to Fakhruddin, Muslims must strengthen their faith and confidence to prevent any influences imposed by ISIS and, hence, this group will not be able to develop. (*)
