Jakarta (Antara) - A police officer was named as suspect in connection with the shooting death of a senior officer of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command. Brigadier Susanto was named as suspect in the shooting of Adjunct Senior Commissioner Pamudji on Tuesday. "Testimonies from witnesses and results of forensic investigation on the scene had led to (Brigadier Susanto) the suspect," the director of crime investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command, Senior Commissioner Heru Pranoto, said here on Wednesday. Heru said police investigators had intensely questioned several witnesses and conducted a scientific investigation. Based on investigation of the scene and items found as evidence, it was believed that Brigadier Susanto had shot AKBP Pamudji. He said the forensic laboratory team from the National Police Headquarters and an Identification Team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command had also found leftover of burned bullet powder (ash) on one of Brigadier Susanto's hands. He added that the blood found on Brigadier Susanto's hands and body was also believed to have come from AKBP Pamudji. In a shocking incident, AKBP Pamudji was found dead with a shot wound on his head at the Community Service room at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command at around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday. At the time of the incident, Brigadier Susanto was seen leaving the room while saying that the chief of the Community Service had committed suicide. (*) Reporting by Taufik Ridwan
