Banda Aceh, Aceh, (Antara)- An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale jolted Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province, on Monday at 2:24 a.m. local time.

The quake's epicenter was located at 5.90 degrees northern latitude and 93.52 degrees eastern longitude, some 201 km northwest of Sabang, and at a depth of 10 km, the Aceh meteorology, climatology and geophysics office said.

On Dec 7, a 6.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Pidie Jaya District and surrounding areas, killing at least 103 people and injuring over 8,000.(*)
