Jember, E Java (Antara) - Three fishermen have died and another is missing after high waves hit their boat in the waters off East Java's northern coast on Saturday.

The bodies of the three fishermen have been recovered, member of the Jember district legislative council (DPRD) Isa Mahdi said on Sunday.

He said the boat which carried dozens of fishermen hit coral and sank in Plawangan waters after being hit by high waves. All the fishermen jumped into the sea.

Four fishermen were missing when high waves hit the boat. Three of them have been recovered, while another is still missing, he said. (*)
