Jakarta (Antara) -- The team searching for the wreckage of AirAsia flight QZ8501 that crashed recently in the waters of Central Kalimantan discovered two more objects in the sea on Thursday. "Today, two new objects were detected by Baruna Jaya ship, bringing the number of objects discovered so far to seven," Chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) F. Henry Bambang Soelistyo said. The two new objects detected in the second-line area will be identified along with the four others found on Wednesday, he added. The six objects are still being investigated to check whether they are, indeed, part of the plane's body or the plane's black box, Soelistyo affirmed. The investigation will be carried out on Friday, he stated, adding, "Divers will dive into the waters tomorrow if the sea currents allow." One of the seven objects found so far has been confirmed by the search and rescue team as the tail of AirAsia flight QZ8501 that crashed on December 28, carrying 162 passengers, including crew members. The same day, Basarnas recovered four bodies of the crash victims, which raised the total body count to 44 till the 12th day since the incident. "Of the total, 41 bodies were taken to Surabaya, while the other three are still aboard a ship," Soelistyo pointed out. (*)
