Jakarta (Antara) - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, known as Jokowi, will submit his letter of resignation after the August 21, 2014 ruling of the Constitutional Court (MK) on the 2014 presidential elections. However, Jokowi declined to reveal more details about his resignation after being declared President by the General Election Commission (KPU). He only said that the resignation will be carried out when the Constitutional Court announces the results of the election dispute hearing. "Yes, it could be October or December," he noted. Earlier, Jokowi, the former Mayor of Surakarta, planned to step down as Governor of Jakarta after Idul Fitri. "The letter of resignation will be submitted after Idul Fitri, approximately August 2014," Jokowi had said. At that time, he pointed out that his letter of resignation would be submitted following the result of the recapitulation by the General Election Commission on July 22. The General Election Commission determined that the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla duo had won the election for president and vice president. (*)
