Jakarta (Antara) - Constitutional Court Chief Justice Akil Mochtar was formally named as a suspect on Thursday in a bribery case linked with a dispute over the election of Central Kalimantan's Gunung Mas district head.
"AM and CN (Chairun Nisa) have been named suspects for receiving bribes," Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chief Abraham Samad revealed.
Chairun Nisa is a member of the House of Representatives' Commission II from Golkar Party.
Meanwhile, KPK has also named HB (Hambit Bintih) and CN (Cornelis) as suspects for offering the bribes, Samad added.
Bintih is the head of the Gunung Mas district, while Cornelis is a businessman.
The KPK has also declared the chief justice a suspect in another bribery case related to the election of the Lebak district head in the Banten province of West Java.
"AM has been named a suspect along with STA for receiving bribes," Samad stated.
Another person named as a suspect in connection with the case is TCW (Tubagus Cherry Wardana), who is also the younger brother of the current governor of Banten province, Ratu Atut Choisyah, and husband of current mayor of Tangerang Airin.
"TCW alias W and his accomplice are the ones that offered the bribes," Samad pointed out. (*)
